I received my bachelors degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ in 2002. After I earned my degree I moved to San Diego, Ca where I was a flight instructor and continued classes towards a masters degree through the Embry-Riddle North Island campus. I gave flight instruction in San Diego until June 2006 when I was hired as an airline pilot with Skywest Airlines. While with Skywest I flew the Brasilia Turboprop and Canadair Regional Jet 200/700/900 and was based in SAN, LAX, DEN, and SFO. I flew for Skywest Airlines for seven years until I had my first daughter in 2013. I now have two daughters ages six and three and have seen the incredible capacity for learning that their young minds hold. A few years ago, I began “playing airline” with my daughters using lesson plans and flight training tools that I used as a flight instructor. I quickly realized that they soaked up every bit of information about aviation that I gave to them. I noticed their playmates and fellow classmates also demonstrated very strong interests in aviation. However, I also quickly realized there was a void in aviation-based learning tools and resources for children. I decided I would try to encourage and foster interest in aviation beginning with children.
